Learning To Have a Generous Heart

Everyone by now has heard of the Law of Attraction. There's another part to it. In order to get the Law of Attraction to really work, ACTION is mandatory. One way to guarantee that you're on the right course is to learn to have a generous heart by giving to others on a regular basis. Money is certainly one way of giving. You can find a worthwhile charity, there are plenty out there. But how about more creative ways to give back to society? Helping the elderly neighbor across the street has not gone out of style. When you help others, even in small ways, if reflects back on you and creates postive vibes in your own life. There are some things to keep in mind that will help to create a natural flow of abundance in your life through acts of generosity. Don't put yourself in the hole by giving more than you can afford. Giving more will not guarantee that you will receive more back. This path rarely works. It only puts you in a bind. You have to take care of yourself first before you can take care of others. Running out of your own resources will only set you up for anxiety and fear if the return doesn't happen immediately. What you have now done in that case is the opposite of the postive course you started out with by giving. If all you have is a dollar to spare, then give no more than that. If you can spare a half hour a week to help out a neighbor, then use that as your path to generosity. Feel good about the small ways you can help others. Just know that when you have more, you can give more. Another thing to keep in mind is that you need to be able to chose when and to what extent you can give. There are many important causes in the world, many worthy causes. However, there are way too many of them for just one person to help them all. You can do your part, each of us can do a part and that way the help gets to where it is needed. John F. Kennedy said, "One man can make a difference. Every man should try." Make a list of the causes that mean the most to you. Make it a short list, remember you can't do it all. An alternative is to make a longer list and just switch it out every once in awhile. The best tactic would be to ask the universe, your higher power, however you see it, to guide you to chances to help where you can be the most useful and it is most needed. Listen to the inner voice when you feel the urge to help a particular person, family or organization. Intuition will not lead you down the wrong path. Intuition is there for a reason and you could discover a great opportunity to serve others by listening. When you give, do so without any thought of what you will get back. Being charitable while expecting something in return will only backfire on you. Just make an intention to give simply because it feels wonderful. Giving is it's own reward when you choose to focus on what you can do for others. By adopting a completely selfless mind-set when giving, the more powerful your results will be when you do receive something back. Don’t worry about how long it might take to see a return on your generosity. Let go of any expectations. Giving money doesn’t mean you will receive money back. Make up your mind to be open to any and all blessings, even those that might show up in disguise.
