Easy Tips to Achieving Goals
Everyone has dreams and goals. It often requires a great deal of effort to reach those goals. It takes time, sometimes a lot of it. Here are some ways to get motivated so you can get on the right path to reaching your goals faster and with less difficulty.
1) Focus on a single goal at a time. Having your fingers in every pie can broaden your focus, but it will keep you from really concentrating on the important ones. Focus on a single target at a time and simplify it down to one sentence. "I want to start walking at least three days a week."
2) What do you truly want? Evaluate your motives and figure out what it is you really are seeking. If you want something so badly that you can feel it in your core, you are much more likely to reach your goal. Just be sure you are after the right goal for the right reason.
3) What inspires you? You have the potential to do great things. Look at someone who has achieved the same goal and find out how they did it. If there is something you need to overcome, how did others do it? Find inspiration from these people and learn all you can.
4) Tell someone about your goals. You are much more likely to reach your destination if you have accountability. Speak of your goal every chance you get. Put it on your blog and write about it often.
5) Find others who share the same goals. There are probably support groups for most anything on which you have set your sights. Again, this is a learning opportunity and a chance to help and be helped. There are many online support groups as well.
6) Write it down. Make a list of the tools you can use to reach your goals. Look at this list often and keep track of those things that you accomplish along the way. It is helpful to keep track of the setbacks as well as the wins. It will keep you on track and keep you from making the same mistake more than once.
7) Make a list of your goals and put it where you can see it all the times. What will you do and how will it feel when you get to the finish line? What are all the reasons for your efforts? There will be times when you may feel like giving up. Keeping this list in plain view will keep you on track.
These tips sound fairly simple and for the most part, they are. With practice, you may be amazed at how powerful these exercises can be.

For number two above, I suggest you keep asking yourself “Why?” for the want. I want to lose five pounds. Why? SO my clothes fit better. Why? Because I miss the admiring looks I used to get. Or some such thing. The idea is that by the process of asking “Why?”, you will dig further down into your want and discover what it is you truly want.
Great insight, excellent point. It’s important to know the right reason or the why of your goals.
