Thank you Carol - it's always good to know that we don't go through these struggles alone. Sometimes it feels like it. I know the very key to this is loving myself and I'm working very hard on that. It will come. :)

Hi Robin, this article is very timely indeed, as self esteem is something I have been working on over the last couple of months. I too have been over weight most of my life and I learned from an early age how negatively people view those who are over weight.

My mother and her sisters are obsessed with weight they talk about it morning noon and night and all of them are over weight, I was constantly told I needed to loose weight or I would end up with diabetes, hypertension, stroke or some other fatal disease. But all their words succeeded in doing was making me run to raid the cupboards when no one was looking.

Thankfully I realized that the road I was heading down would Indeed lead to disaster. Being 60lbs over weight and smoking 20 cigarettes a day is not a good combination. So I took the time to raise my self esteem and begin loving myself I have now lost 33lbs, I am on my way to loosing another 20lbs and I have quit smoking.

Thanks Robin for your wise advice, I hope all of those folks who believe that constantly telling someone they are fat and need to loose weight, realize that they are actually making the situation worse. If they were to offer love, encouragement and support instead they would see miracles happen.

Dear Robin, from the foot of Mount Fuji, Japan, thanks for your excellent living creatively pointers. I agree that doing something different in your daily routine can help open your creativity. And moving your body certainly does so. You don't even need to enroll in a freestyle dancing class. Go out to the garden and dance under the trees - recall how you skipped and ran and jumped when you were a child - and do it again now. Or play some music and dance in the privacy of your room. Dancing our body naturally is one of our most ancient impulses, and out of that can come incredible creativity. I am glad to meet you - please visit my bilingual website/blog, Energy Doorways, if you have time. I look forward to sharing perspectives with you from Japan - Catrien Ross.

Very valuable tips for boosting one's creativity. Staying away from the project for a day really works for me as it gives me the time to address issues that need my attention and it is because I am not paying attention to them that my creativity gets blocked. Thanks for reminding again. Best wishes.

Thanks Carol, I do like the new design. :D Postive HABITS - it does take work and for me it does not always stay ingrained unfortunately! But I'm a work in progress.

Excellent tips Robin, I particulary agree with practicing being positive. It is not something that you can just master overnight. Having a positive attitude takes constant continual practice until it becomes engrained as a habit.
BTW love the new design.

Thank you for these tips! Staying within budget is indeed important, especially during these difficult times. It might take a little getting used to for some, but the more important aspect is being able to spend time with loved ones and having a wonderful time despite everything that’s happened this year. Recognizing the importance of every little gesture, tradition and moment is also key to making the most out of this holiday season.
